Reflections from Helsinki Gathering

Reflections from Helsinki Gathering

The Helsinki edition of Reimagining Prosperity marked the second international gathering exploring what a Family Office DAO could become. Building on the work started in Singapore, the circle examined systemic breakdowns in today’s wealth structures and experimented with new forms of collaborative governance.

An anchor document now emerge from this exploration:
Whitepaper v1.2 reflecting the collective intelligence of the group and informing the early architecture of a DAO prototype.

What the Circle Observed

Where the Current System Falls Short

Several themes surfaced as root causes of today’s dysfunctions:

  • Disconnection from nature, food, technology, and one another

  • Wealth shaped by fear, focused on protecting power

  • Outdated structures rooted in industrial-era logic

  • Ego-centered decision-making and limited symmetrical dialogue

  • The illusion of ownership, reinforcing attachment and suffering

  • Governance apathy, where a few decide for the many

These patterns point to a system that no longer reflects the complexity, interdependence, or values of the emerging era.

What a New Model Could Enable

The group imagined a wealth system designed for life, not accumulation—one capable of unlocking:

  • Shared responsibility and shared benefit

  • Stewardship across multiple forms of capital (social, emotional, relational, reputational)

  • A renewed sense of global belonging

  • Fluid, seasonal roles rather than fixed hierarchies

  • Collective decision-making that is both diverse and effective

  • Recognition for contributions that advance the common good

As one participant put it: “Time is the only real wealth.”

Questions That Now Shape the Work

The Helsinki Circle opened several essential inquiries:

  • Who belongs in a Family Office DAO?

  • How is trust built among people who may never meet in person?

  • How can social and relational value be recognized and rewarded?

  • How do emerging technologies avoid recreating the same power pyramids?

  • What does meaningful prosperity look like across generations?

  • Is the DAO a tool for systemic change, investment, or both?

These questions now guide the evolution toward a first prototype.

What Comes Next

The next phase focuses on:

  • Purpose v3

  • Governance v1

  • Season 0 Prototype

  • Whitepaper v3 development

Whitepaper v1.2, updated with insights from Singapore and Helsinki, now serves as the foundation. The coming months will be dedicated to refining the governance model and preparing the next iteration of the DAO design.

The Helsinki gathering reinforced a simple truth:
A new model of prosperity cannot be built by a single institution, family, or individual. It requires a collective willing to experiment, question, and create together.
