Planting Seeds of Change: Our Journey at the FBN NextGen International Summit in Istanbul

From launching a Open Space for FBN Impact to reimagining the family office as a living ecosystem, our time in Istanbul left us inspired, aligned, and energized for what’s ahead.

First-Ever FBN Impact Open Space

On May 9th, during the Family Business Network (FBN) NextGen International Summit in Istanbul, we hosted the first-ever FBN Impact Open Space — bringing together impact-driven members to explore systemic transformation, starting with food.

The session began with Jenaan Lilani reflecting on the power of collective action, followed by Onur sharing his journey from NextGen to impact leadership, and what it means to lead from purpose and presence in an age of complexity.

We then turned our focus to food systems — with a passionate and grounded pitch from Dilara Koçak, founder of The Good Wild, who shared her bold vision for shifting how we engage with food, nature, and wellbeing.

"What forms of capital — economic, social, political, or career — can we each offer to support systemic change and the mission of The Good Wild?"

The room reflected, responded, and revealed the depth of commitment within the FBN community. It was a reminder of the catalytic power of coming together in open, generative dialogue.

Designing the Family Office of the Future

On May 10th, Onur spoke at the session “Family Office: Owners, Investors, and Stewards of the Future” alongside Peter Vogel and Shi Hui Goh.

The session explored family offices not as static structures, but as evolving ecosystems — shaped by values, stewarded by vision, and designed to navigate complexity across generations.

"Designing for impact begins with inner clarity — transformation requires not just financial tools, but emotional resilience and relational depth."

Through stories, questions, and shared experience, the session called on participants to reimagine the purpose and potential of wealth across time.

From Insight to Intention

We left Istanbul with hearts full and minds expanded. From systemic food conversations to ecosystemic family leadership, this gathering showed us what’s possible when values-aligned individuals come together in courageous honesty.

The seeds we planted in Istanbul are already growing. We’re grateful to the FBN community — and excited for what’s next.
