Temiz Çeşme, Temiz Deniz

Temiz Çeşme, Temiz Deniz

On June 11–12, the “Clean Çeşme, Clean Sea”initiative was launched in collaboration with Çeşme Municipality and TÜDAV, as part of World Environment Day events.

The two-day program featured a beach and sea cleanup, public panel, exhibition, and live music. On June 12, open water swimmer Emre Erdoğan made a symbolic swim from Ilıca Beach to Eşek Island, raising awareness for marine protection — watch the video here.

On June 12th, Özlem and Onur joined a special coordination meeting at Alavya Hotel to finalize the upcoming “Clean Çeşme, Clean Sea” Gala Dinner, set to take place on July 24th.

This dinner is being held to grow the community around the initiative and raise funds to support projects that emerged from last year’s Çeşme stakeholder workshop and the book published afterward. It marks the first time Light Eagle is co-organizing an event with local partners, and the energy around the table reflected the power of shared intention. Representatives from Çeşme Municipality, TÜDAV, Turquoise Coast Environment Fund (TCEF), local NGOs, artists, environmental volunteers, and culinary professionals gathered to align around a shared mission: protecting our seas and building a conscious coastal community.

We’re excited to see this circle grow — and view this moment as a unique opportunity to take responsibility for the waters that nourish our home.
